Introduction
The Oklahoma Society of Land Surveyors (OSLS) provides scholarship support to individuals pursuing a career as a Registered Professional Land Surveyor. These awards are intended to encourage entry into the surveying profession and to recognize applicants who show promise in leadership, community involvement, and a sincere commitment to land surveying.
Mission
To provide financial aid to students and trainees who are preparing for careers as Registered Professional Land Surveyors.
Purpose / Goal
To raise awareness of land surveying as a profession and to promote the high standards and integrity associated with the field among those considering it as a career.
Award Details
Scholarships are granted to applicants who demonstrate achievement and potential in leadership, citizenship, and a genuine interest in land surveying. Award amounts vary and will depend on the number of qualified applicants.
Important Dates
Scholarships are awarded annually in advance of the fall semester. All applications must be received by May 15 each year.
Eligibility
Applicants must identify with one of the two categories below and satisfy the listed requirements for that category:
Option A — High school graduates entering college
- Minimum cumulative GPA: 2.5
- Must be a current Associate or Student member of the Oklahoma Society of Land Surveyors
- Must be an Oklahoma resident
Option B — Individuals working under a Professional Land Surveyor toward registration
- Must be working under the supervision of a Professional Land Surveyor and actively pursuing registration
- Must submit a recommendation from a Licensed Professional Land Surveyor
- Must be a current Associate or Student member of the Oklahoma Society of Land Surveyors
- Should have a strong foundation in mathematics
