Gianforte Trade and Technology Scholarships

Overview
This scholarship provides financial support to students pursuing technical and trade-focused programs. Eligible recipients are awarded $1,500 per semester for full-time enrollment or $750 per semester for part-time enrollment. Programs that commonly qualify include, but are not limited to, automotive technology, plumbing, electronics, construction, diesel technology, cybersecurity, and many other computer and technical fields. General eligibility
To be considered for the award, applicants must meet the following requirements:
1. Montana residency as defined by Board of Regents Policy 940.1.
2. Completion and filing of a FAFSA (note: dual credit students are exempt from the FAFSA requirement).
3. Demonstrated Unmet Need, calculated as: Cost of Attendance − Student Aid Index (SAI) − other aid (excluding loans) = Unmet Need.
4. Good standing at an eligible campus, demonstrated by meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards.
5. Enrollment in at least 6 credits within a qualifying program during the term of application.

- Fall term: September 1
- Spring term: February 1
Application steps
Applications must be completed in full by the posted deadline to be considered:
1. Confirm you meet all eligibility criteria listed above.
2. Submit a complete application via the Award Montana Portal.
3. Ensure you are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits at a qualifying campus and in a qualifying program for the term applied for.
