Overview
Undergraduate scholars selected for The LAGRANT Foundation award will be invited to a professional development trip in Cincinnati, OH from May 10–13, 2026. The program includes a welcome dinner with a keynote speaker, three days of career-development and professional workshops, and a scholarship and donor recognition reception. Scholarship recipients will receive $2,500.
Who May Apply
This opportunity is open only to current undergraduate students — freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors who will not be graduating before the scholarship is awarded (non-graduating seniors only). Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements listed below and complete the online application to be considered.
Eligibility Requirements
- U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or DACA recipient
- Enrolled full time at a U.S. accredited four-year institution (minimum of 12 units per semester/quarter)
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 (see optional GPA explanation below if you do not meet this threshold)
- Major or program of study with a focus in advertising, marketing, or public relations
- Have at least one year remaining to complete your degree as of May 2026
- Must be available to attend the scholarship activities in Cincinnati (May 10–13, 2026). Attendance at these events is required to receive the scholarship.
- If selected, recipients agree to maintain contact with TLF for one year to receive professional guidance and academic support.
Application and Submission Instructions
- Combine all application materials into a single PDF before uploading/submitting. Applications that are not submitted as one PDF will not be accepted.
- Typed applications only — handwritten forms will be disqualified.
Required Application Materials
The application package must include the application form and the following items. Essay answers should be placed on separate pages.
Essays (each on its own page)
1. One-page essay outlining your career goals and the steps you intend to take to reach them.
2. Short response describing why increasing representation of underrepresented groups in advertising, marketing, and public relations matters to you.
3. A brief paragraph summarizing your college and/or community involvement.
4. A brief paragraph listing any honors or awards you have received.
Optional
- If your GPA does not reflect your academic abilities, you may include a one-page explanation addressing the discrepancy.
Additional Required Documents
- One reference letter from a college professor or internship supervisor, written on official letterhead and signed.
- Current resume.
- Unofficial college/university transcripts. (Finalists will be required to submit official transcripts.) If you are an incoming freshman beginning in Fall 2026, an acceptance letter from your college/university may be used in place of unofficial transcripts.
- Headshot photograph of the applicant.
Important Notes
- Recipients must attend the May 10–13, 2026 activities in Cincinnati to receive the scholarship.
- By applying, finalists/recipients agree to a one-year professional and academic engagement with The LAGRANT Foundation after the award.
