Overview
The College Fund of Pinellas County, Inc. is a volunteer-run, tax-exempt nonprofit that raises funds to assist Pinellas County residents who demonstrate strong academic potential but lack sufficient financial resources to complete a bachelor’s degree. Our goal is to help students improve their own prospects, support their families, and strengthen the community.
Award Details
- Annual award: $1,200.
- Continued funding: Recipients who remain academically eligible, continue to receive a Pell Grant, and maintain full-time enrollment (12 or more credit hours) will be supported each year until they reach a total of $4,800 or complete a bachelor’s degree, whichever occurs first.
Who may apply
This opportunity is open to both incoming and currently enrolled college students who meet all eligibility criteria listed below.
Eligibility requirements
To qualify for a scholarship, applicants must satisfy every item below:
- Be a resident of Pinellas County.
- Be a U.S. citizen.
- Be eligible for a Pell Grant for the upcoming academic year (you must provide proof).
- Plan to attend a regionally accredited college or university in the upcoming school year.
- Intend to enroll full time (at least 12 credit hours).
- Plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree.
- Have either:
- A high school GPA of 3.0 or higher, or
- A college GPA of 2.0 or higher.
Application instructions and required documents
Complete the online application in a single session — the form cannot be saved and revisited later. Gather the following materials before you start:
- A screenshot from your completed FAFSA showing Pell Grant eligibility.
- Your most recent transcript (high school or college, as applicable).
- Two written responses to the essay prompts. Each essay must be no longer than 400 words (see the essay section on the form for prompts and instructions).
Important notes
- Read every question on the application carefully and provide all requested information. Applications that are incomplete or fail to meet the eligibility criteria will be disqualified and will not be reviewed.
- You must finish and submit the application by Friday, JUNE 12, 2026, 11:59 PM EST.
