South Baldwin Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by South Baldwin Education Foundation
Eligibility and overview - Scholarships are open to graduating high school seniors who currently attend one of the following Baldwin County, Alabama schools: Foley High School, Elberta High School, Robertsdale High School, Gulf Shores High School, Orange Beach High School, or Gulf Coast Christian Academy. - All submissions must be completed through the AwardSpring application portal. - Submission of an application does not guarantee a scholarship award or even consideration for one. Application follow-up and payment timing - Scholarship checks are issued starting the second week of July each year, provided you have satisfied any required follow-up items in the AwardSpring portal. - The SBEF will not process or send payment until all requested follow-up actions in AwardSpring are finished. Transfers and unused balances - If you receive an award but later transfer to another accredited college or university, you may request that remaining scholarship funds be transferred by submitting a transfer form. Funds will be released once your current institution returns the remaining balance. Renewability and expiration - Most awards are one-time payments. If an award is renewable, you will be informed at the time the scholarship is granted. - If you delay enrollment after high school graduation, you generally have about one year to claim your scholarship. After that period, unclaimed awards will be forfeited. How payments are applied - Scholarship funds are sent directly to the financial aid office of your college or university. - Funds are applied pro rata toward tuition, required fees, and textbooks for the applicable academic terms. They may also be used for room and board or other direct educational costs, or for later terms, provided that other scholarships, grants, or work-study amounts have been applied first toward tuition, fees, and books.
