Boise State University Incoming Freshman Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Boise State University
First Step: Submit Your Admission Application
By sending in a fully completed application, you will be automatically evaluated for a scholarship without needing to fill out an additional form. A full application consists of your admission application and your transcript(s). All necessary documents must be received by Boise State Admissions by the deadline mentioned in the second step.
Second Step: Adhere to the Deadline
- Deadlines for New and Transfer Residents
- Deadlines for New and Transfer Nonresidents
- Deadlines for Graduate Students
Those who are awarded automatic scholarships will be informed via their admission letter. Scholarships will be displayed in the Student Center three weeks after an admission decision has been made. Refer to the ‘Student Type’ section at the top of this page for scholarship dates and deadlines that apply to your specific student category.
To increase your chances of receiving additional funding, ensure you complete the FAFSA and the Boise State scholarship application. More information can be found in steps three and four.
Third Step: Fill Out the FAFSA
The priority deadline for the fall is February 15, and for the spring, it's October 1. This applies to both the FAFSA and Federal Student Aid Estimator.
The final date to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2025-2026 academic year is June 30, 2025. However, the earlier you complete the FAFSA, the sooner your aid eligibility will be assessed. By filling out the FAFSA and Boise State Scholarship Application, you may qualify for need-based scholarships and federal financial aid. If you do not wish to be evaluated for need-based scholarships or federal student aid, move on to the next step.
Fourth Step: Fill Out the Boise State Scholarship Application
Complete the application to increase your chances of receiving a Boise State University scholarship. Scholarship recipients will be informed via BroncoMail and all awards will be given out by May 1.
The Boise State Scholarship Application becomes available in mid-November and most scholarship opportunities close by February 15.
- International students are advised to complete the international student scholarship application. More details can be found on the international student scholarships page.
Fifth Step: Apply for State Scholarships
- This step can be skipped by nonresidents
