Lauren P. Miller Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Wyoming Community Foundation
Overview
The Lauren P. Miller Scholarship supports Wyoming residents who are enrolled in a U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeships Registered Apprenticeship Program. While applicants from any trade will be considered, preference is given to those in automotive and construction-related fields (for example, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical).
If your employer does not yet have a Registered Apprenticeship Program, contact Jason Demo, Director of the Wyoming Apprenticeship Office, at (307) 401-4185 for guidance on establishing a program.
Eligibility
- Must be a Wyoming resident.
- Must be actively enrolling in a Registered Apprenticeship Program with the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeships.
Award amount and quantity
- Each year at least ten scholarships of $600 will be awarded.
- The exact number of awards and award amounts may change based on available funding.
Duration and renewal
- Awards cover one year.
- Recipients may apply for the scholarship in subsequent years, but it is the applicant’s responsibility to determine whether re-application is permitted; no individual re-application reminders will be sent.
Applicant expectations and required statements
- As a condition of the fund, candidates should be non-smokers and abstain from alcoholic beverages; applicants must be willing to sign a statement affirming this.
- The Wyoming Community Foundation (WYCF) enforces a 3-month probationary period. Miller Scholarships.
